Sobhakiran elected MPP working president

Imphal, December 15 2012:
Nongmeikapam Sobhakiran has been elected as the new working president of Manipur People's Party (MPP) .
The Central Committee of the party has given its approval in this regard.
The newly elected working president was welcome by the party's Central Committee members and advisors with garlands at the party office here today.
Later, O Joy, advisor, MPP said that according to the constitution of the party, the post of working president should be filled up within a period of one year.
Sobhakiran was elected as the party president by convening the Central Committee meeting which is held every three months.
He said L Jatra had been the president in-charge of MPP since December 3 after S Umananda tendered his resignation from the post.
Referring to the upcoming session State Assembly, O Joy claimed that the two day-day session that has been summoned on December 19 and 20 is almost like convening session for a single day because the first day of the session will not have any business.
