Body builders felicitated

Four body builders of the State who won medals in different weight categories in the recently concluded 4th World Body Building Championship 2012 were given a rousing reception at Lamyanba Shanglen today.
Mr Universe title winner in the 75 Kg category, A Bobby; 3rd position winner in the 65 Kg category, Kh Pradipkumar; 3rd position winner in Women's 50-60 Kg category, Y (O) Momota and fifth position winner in the same category, K Rebita Devi were accorded warm reception during the programme.
The felicitation programme was organised by ten organisations including ACOAM-Lup, PANDAM, IPSA, NIPCO, UPF, AMSU, KSA, MDO, UCM.
Speaking at the function, UCM Secretary General Joychandra Konthoujam said though the population of the State is few comparing to other States, sports persons of the State have earned places in National and International sporting arena, which is a matter of pride for all citizens of the State.
He said sports persons of the State deserve due honour.
Khundrakpam Pradipkumar acknowledged the support and trust of the public on them in the 4th World Body Building Championship.

Maintaining that man is errable, Pradipkumar further called upon all concerned to lend support and assistance in rehabilitating any person.
He said drug addict like him could earn a place even in International arena with the support and assistances of family and friends.
He also urged the Government to extend assistances to sports persons while also urging the civil society organisations to facilitate Government sponsorship to sports persons.
Adviser of IPSA, Ibotombi Khuman stressed on the need to set up a sports academy at all districts and equip them with adequate infrastructures.
The felicitation programme was attended among others by UCM President Y Nabachandra; working president of ACOAM-Lup Anganghal Soroisam; VP of IPSA, Kh Chingkhei Luwang; president of UPF BM Yaima; president of NIPCO Sunil Karam; president of PANDAM Yumnam Dipakkumar; AMSU president Th Suresh; MDO president H Badankumar; National judge of IBBF Samom Dhruba.
