THE PEOPLES' United Liberation Front (PULF) has observed May 3 as a day to wipe out anti-social elements with a religious ceremony praying for the victims' souls who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident that had occurred on May 3, 1993 .
Recalling the incident that happened on May 3, 1993, wherein over 150 people lost their lives, as the handiwork of few 'anti-social' elements, a press statement released by PULF publicity secretary, Anish Khan stated that the outfit prays for the souls of the victims to rest in peace on the lap of Allah.
It stated that the day was marked by saying prayers by Islamic religious leaders at Masjids for the victims' souls to rest in peace.
It also added that edibles and sweets were distributed to inmates of Orphan Homes and Madrassas with a prayer to Allah.
The outfit also prays that all the communities of Manipur live together peacefully and renew its pledge to prevent unwanted incidents in the future.
At the same time, Anish Khan also conveyed that the outfit has paid its last respect to Md.Ajehruddin of Keirao Makchin Makha Leikai, who was killed by the 28 AR on May 1 last at Uchekon Takhok.
The PULF statement also acknowledged Ajehruddin as a committed cadre of the party while also sharing the grief of the bereaved family.
