Imphal, May 03 2009:
THE UMANGLAI Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) has expressed concern over the waning of traditional rites in performing Lai Haraoba while appealing the people to preserve the sanctity of Lai Haraoba.
A release issued by UKAL Convenor M Mani said that UKAL has released Amaibi Longjam Echechaobi (Tembi) of Sekmaijin and Tangkhul Shaba S Santa of Kyamgei Maning Leikai, who were seized on April 30, after conformity of not to violate the Lai Haraoba norms.
UKAL will continue to observe the conduct of Lai Haraoba in the days to come and those trespassers should be dealt with severely.
Further it appeals all concerned not to violate the norms of Lai Haraoba in any way, it stated.
