THE OUTLAWED Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) today declared that it will stop collecting all kinds of taxes from the Manipuri traders, transporters of goods and passengers, transport associations, etc.
based at the border town of Moreh from this month.
Making the announcement that will surely be welcomed by the sections of people concerned of Moreh, Secretary, Publicity, RPF T Leishemba stated in a press release that the RPF, considering the hardships being faced by the people in their struggle for survival, had already stopped taking donations from the people.
Saying that the need for money in the struggle for liberation is great, Leishemba further stated that the RPF believes that only when the resources of the people are abundant, the resources of the revolutionaries will also be abundant.
The party wants the resources of the people to be abundant.
As part of the series of activities and programmes to be taken up by the RPF, it had decided to stop seeking donations from the people including collecting all kinds of taxes from the traders, passenger service vehicles, goods carriers and transporters' associations, Leishemba stated.
