Abducted SBI manager released

Saikhahao Sitlou, SBI Leimakhong branch manager, was freed by the kidnappers around 9:20 pm November 15 night at Akpao village.
He was released by his abductors on health ground after keeping him for five days in captivity apparently for ransom.
Police said Saikhahao was released by the unknown kidnappers as his health deteriorated after they kept him for five days.
However, his family paid Rs 80,000 to his abductors to free him, according to a reliable source.
Saikhahao, a resident of Saparmeina under Sadar Hills, was reportedly kidnapped by some miscreants on November 10 at about 5 pm at a place between Pheidinga and Sekmai in Imphal West district while he was returning home from his office.
In an unrelated incident, unidentified persons suspected to be militants hurled a Chinese hand grenade at the resident of Zilla Parishad Adhaksha of Moirang Keiren Phabi in Bishnupur district but it did not explode, police said.
Police said the incident happened yesterday evening when suspected militants attacked the house of Adhaksha Tongbram Hema Devi of Keiren Phabi, adding that the bomb was retrieved by a Manipur Bomb Squad team and later safely disposed Wednesday.
