In the action, a girl student of English Department namely Yengkhom Bandana and another boy student were hurt.

The student protestors then marched towards the office of VC situated at the Administrative Block to ask him why the hostellers were informed to leave the hostels and demand revocation of the order.
There, the VC told them that the order was issued following violent actions by some students inside the university campus.
Angered by the reply of the VC, the students tried to break the shutter of the office.
They also damaged two CCTV cameras installed at wall of the office apart from many flower pots kept there.
Several students then threw stones towards the office which resulted in breakage of window glasses on the second floor of the office.
After the situation turned murkier, police rushed in and fired tear gas shells injuring more three students.
Amongst the injured, Lanchenba, who is MA in political sciences, has been admitted to RIMS with injuries on his head.

However, staffs of the office managed to douse the fire that destroyed two sofas.
Meanwhile, Manipur University Tribal Students' Union has also strongly condemned the notice served by Registrar, MU telling hostellers staying in the university to leave the hostels within 4 pm of August 6 .
The Union stated that sudden imposition of evacuation order at a critical juncture has affected the academic atmosphere in the university, causing chaos and extreme inconveniences to the students community at large and in particular, the already marginalized tribal students coming from far flung remote villages.
