Govt Ideal Blind School students suspend class boycott

Students of Ideal Blind School, Takyel, suspended their class boycott stir following a meeting held between the students of the school and Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, S Chaoba, Ideal Blind School Students' Union secretary, asserted that the boycott was suspended after Minister Mirabai promised them to fulfil their demands.
He added that the Minister agreed to recruit a primary teacher each for Mathematics and Science subjects.
The Minister also agreed to employ an Editor for the Braille Press; two binders, a proof reader; a chowkidar and an attendant, he added.
Apart from that, to increase the diet allowance by October of this year and provide two new computers are also included in the list assured by Minister Mirabai, Chaoba asserted.
