Chief minister assures support to Sainik School

Imphal, December 02 2011:
CM, O Ibobi Singh, assured all possible help from the state government to make up infrastructural and other requirements of Sainik School Imphal during a short visit to the school today, according to a press release of PRO (Def) .
He was received by Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen GOC 57 Mtn Div, Chairman LBA, Sainik School Imphal along with Wing Commander E Srinivas (Headmaster), Maj Anand Thoudam(Registrar) , staff and cadets of class XII .
The CM inspite of his hectic schedule took out time to felicitate and congratulate the cadets who have qualified for entry to NDA.
The CM complimented the cadets for their outstanding performance wherein 18 out of 23 cadets qualified in the UPSC written examination.
Wishing success in the final selection, the CM gave away Rs 50,000 on the spot.
The Chief Minister also assured to ensure speedy release of scholarship when informed of the delay and promised a multipurpose indoor stadium, boundary wall for the entire campus, an additional dormitory and a school bus.
He was also informed of the shortage of staff quarters when he specifically required about the requirements of staff.
He has also accepted to be the Chief Guest in the Annual Athletic Meet to be held in the middle of December 2011 .
The school in return has shown its mettle by bringing in the most coveted Defence Minister's Trophy this year for sending the highest percentage of cadets to NDA.
Shri Y Joykumar Singh, DGP, Manipur who accompanied the Chief Minster also shared his thought and suggestions for the projections to be made to the Govt, stated the release.
