American theatre director to visit Imphal

Imphal, December 02 2011:
American theatre master director Robert Wilson who is a towering figure in the contemporary history of world theatre would visit Imphal on December 10 .
During his four day sojourn at Imphal, Robert Wilson is set to watch Ratan Thiyam's play When We Dead Awaken at the Shrine Playhouse of the Chorus Repertory Theatre.
He will also conduct a master theatre class together with theatre directors, experts, critics and actors of Manipur.
Robert Wilson would also be treated with dance and music programmes of JN Manipur Dance Academy.
It is reported that the American theatre director would visit Loktak Lake too.
Incidentally, Robert Wilson has directed and presented many unconventional plays running up to 12 hours as well as plays which lasted for almost seven days which were staged in multiple episodes in several international festivals.
The American director was invited by renowned Manipur theatre director Ratan Thiyam to come to Manipur.
The two directors met at Theatre Olympic.
Robert Wilson will leave Manipur on December 13 .
