Blast JAC threatens stir agitation

Setting deadline of December 15 for the Government of Manipur to identify and round up those responsible for the recent triggering the bomb blast at Palace Compound area that claimed the life of one Md Kora, Joint Action Committee Against the Killing of Md Kora at Hapta Kangjeibung Bomb Blast on November 30 cautioned that it would be constrained to launch intense agitation in case of failure to honour the demand.
Speaking to newspersons at Manipur Press Club today, Joint Action Committee convenor Zakir Hussain said in connection with the killing of Kora a memorandum containing various demands has been handed over to the Chief Minister on December 1 .
Apart from demanding punishment of the culprits involved in the blast, the JAC reiterated its demand that the State Government pay Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia and provide a suitable job to next of kin of the deceased Md Kora.
A Rahman, who is finance secretary of All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers and Pullers' Association pledged the Association's support to any movement launched by the JAC on the issue.
Kora's wife namely Pishak (38) of Hatta Golapati, who was also present at the media briefing narrated that as usual her husband left home at around 8 am of the fateful day, to earn the family two square meals.
Pishak said she initially was in disbelief when she was told of the tragic demise of Kora at around 11 am, and asserted that the culprits should not be spared at any cost.
On the otherhand, the victim's brother namely Md Salemuddin (50) demanded an immediate clarification if any armed group is involved in the blast.
He also demanded that the Government galvanise all its resources to track down the culprits for befitting punishment as
per law .
