Imphal, February 10 2009:
The School Management and Development Committee of the Maha Union Government High School, Japhou, Chandel has urged upon the authority concerned to release final bill for construction of the school's new building under SPA.
A press release issued by the Committee said that the construction of the new building was completed in June last year.
With the work agency not getting the final bill yet, labourers and material suppliers have not been paid.
Subsequently, the labourers and the suppliers have locked up the newly constructed school building.
Informing that more than 500 candidates will be appearing in the HSLC examination scheduled to begin from February 27 at the school, the committee conveyed that the candidates could not be accommodated without the new building.
Highlighting the problems that would be faced by the school authority in the event of non-availability of the new building for the HSLC examination, the committee urged upon the authority concerned to take up appropriate actions at the earliest.
