Two more Cong MLAs join BJP

In a big political development, Congress MLAs RK Imo and Yamthong Haokip have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), today.
It is to be noted that RK Imo and Yamthong Haokip were elected from Sagolband and Saikul Assembly Constituencies respectively.
While RK Imo is put under suspension as a Congress MLA, Yamthong Haokip is involved in the arms missing case from the Arms Kote of 2nd MR.The two MLAs were warmly felicitated by BJP National president JP Nadda in the presence of senior party leaders such as Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal and the party National spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra among others.
At the function, Dr Sambit Patra stated that the entry of two prominent leaders of the Congress party to the party by putting faith in the developmental work taken up under the leadership of Prime Minister Narenda Modi, especially in the North East region is welcoming.

He also exuded confidence that that BJP will surely return to power in the next term after winning over 40 seats in the 2022 State Assembly election.
RK Imo Singh, on the other hand, stated that he joined the BJP to bring more development in Manipur under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
He also emphasised on the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in enforcing Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in Manipur.
RK Imo further stated that the law and order situation in Manipur has improved considerably with the coming of BJP Government.
He pledged to ensure BJP return to power after the Assembly election.
Born to former Chief Minister and the first Union Minister from the State RK Jaichandra Singh, RK Imo is a two term MLA from Sagolband AC.
It may further be mentioned that former Manipur Congress chief Govindas Konthoujam also joined the BJP on August 1 last.
