House to announce its decision on district creations today

CM, Okram Ibobi today said that there is no such land like Kukis' land, Nagas' land and Meetei's land in the state.
Giving reply to a calling attention motion of Opposition leader Radhabinod Koijam, the CM told the House that the people of the state whether in the hills or valley are paying taxes to the government even though they are holding their land ownership certificates.
It clearly shows that all the land of the state is the property of the state government.
He expressed on the need of more time to chalk out a proper planning before giving in to demands since it might create unwanted situations regarding the boundary of surrounding districts.
A District Reorganisation Committee has been formed regarding the matter.
Even though the committee was instructed to submit its report within three months, there are high possibilities of completing the report at an earlier date.
After discussing the report of the committee, the government will announce its decision before the implementation of the Election Code of Conduct.
He appealed to agitators not to resort to violent acts during an agitation.
It is also not a right policy to concede to the pressure given by the agitators without proper discussion and planning.
It will become a headache for the government in future if the government conceded to pressures, CM said.
The CM again appealed to the SHDDC and UNC to call off their ongoing blockades on the National Highways since their demand could not be granted at this point of time without proper reorganization of the boundaries of the districts.
He asked for three months time to reach an amicable solution.
MLA, Thangmilian Kipgen said that the demand for a full-fledged Sadar Hills district is a 40 year old demand.
Moreover, SHDDC is demanding a district status of Sadar Hills for a smooth and transparent administration.
It is a legitimate demand and the government should accede to their demand.
MLA, Haokholet Kipgen appealed to the government to declare Sadar Hills as a full-fledged district before the reorganization of the boundaries of the various districts.
Re-organisation can be done hundred times after the declaration.
He said, the ongoing blockade is giving hardship to the people of the state, but likewise the 40 years old demand of SHDDC is giving various hardship to the people of Sadar Hills.
MLA, Wungnaoshung Keishing expressed serious concern on the prevailing situation arisin out of the demand of SHDDC and told the House that the agitation is pressurising the government.
He reminded the demand of Phungyar district has been made without pressurising the government.
After hearing the discussion and opinions of various MLAs including O Joy, RK Anand, Th Shyamkumar, Ng Bijoy, Morung Makunga, V Hangkhalian and N Mangi, Speaker I Hemochandra ruled that the House will take a firm decision tomorrow on the matter of the present demands of district creation and blockade on the NHs.
He also appealed to the agitating SHDDC and UNC to withdraw their indefinite blockade on the NHs.
