Kangpokpi, July 24 2022:
Reacting to the allegation of Kangpokpi JNV Selected Candidates Guardians'
Association, KSO Sadar Hills has urged the
guardians' association to be aware of Navodaya
Vidyalaya Samiti admission guidelines before
raising any allegations.
The Guardian Association had accused Kangpokpi ZEO of refusing to countersign on the
admission forms of those selected students,
whose permanent addresses are not Kangpokpi
district, and demanded admission to JNV of
Imphal East or West.
The student body pointed out that as per
NVS admission guidelines and prospectus
for JNV Selection Test 2022 for admission to
Class VI, under eligible criteria 4.1, it is clearly
stated that a candidate applying for admission
to JNV should be from the district where
the JNV is located, while 4.2 stated that the
candidate should be studying in Class V in a
government/government aided or recognised
school in that district.
KSO has been strictly
monitoring the admission process to avoid
violation of the NVS admission guidelines so
that the genuine students get admission as
per the guidelines.
It stated that there are many candidates from
various communities, who are permanent
residents of Kangpokpi district, and there is
no problem in their admission process.
There is
nothing communal over the refusal to countersign by ZEO Kangpokpi, rather she is acting as
per the NVS admission guidelines, the student
body said.
If the guardians' association is not
aware of the NVS admission guidelines, they
should first be aware of it instead of making
such absurd allegations, it added.
It further said that the Deputy Commissioner (Exam), NVS, had requested the Deputy
Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti
of all regional offices to instruct the Principal of JNV in their respective jurisdiction to
verify the residential status and class V/VIII
status before confirming the admission of
provisionally selected candidates in Classes
VI/IX from the session 2022-2023.
The Deputy Commissioner (Exam) also informed the DC, JNV of all regional offices that
in some JNVs, candidates from other districts
are being admitted, and hence it has been
decided that for future admission to Class VI/
IX, submission of proof of address in the same
district along with documents for which the
applicants have applied, will be mandatory.
Meanwhile, KSO Sadar Hills stated that it
has come to its knowledge that some officials
from the district are issuing false certificates
to the students, who are seeking admission to
JNV Kangpokpi, against the NVS guidelines,
and they will be strictly monitoring such
unprofessional practice of officials from the
district and the admission process at the JNV
Kangpokpi.
The student body also strongly
urged the DC Kangpokpi to take appropriate
action against such officials indulging in such
unprofessional conduct.
