PFA provides legal assistance

PFA Thoubal provided legal assistance to a family from Ccpur whose pet dog was stolen and butchered by three men from the same locality on May 14 .
The pet dog owned by Phungkhansiam and family of Bungmual village of Churachandpur district was stolen and slaughtered by Thangmuanlal (26), s/o Khamkhanlian of Lamlian Veng, Bungmual and two others.
PFA provided legal assistance to Phungkhansiam family and helped them file an FIR at Ccpur PS against the accused persons.
The trio were arrested and produced before the court of CJM of Churachanpur.
The main accused, Thangmuanlal was remanded to Judicial custody while the two were granted bail.
He would be produced before the court again.
PFA appealed to CJM and all concerned to award the criminals the severest punishment the law allows.
The PFA said in a press statement that those accused of stealing pet animal and slaughtering are punishable under Section 428/429 of IPC, Section 378 of IPC and Section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
