Krishan Kant to be sworn in as new Governor today

Imphal, September 14 2014:
With the State bidding adieus to the outgoing Governor Vinod Kumar Duggal who left for Delhi today, Governor of Meghalaya Krishan Kant Paul would arrive here tomorrow to be sworn in as Governor-in-charge of the State.
The swearing-in ceremony would be administered by Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra at Raj Bhavan here tomorrow.
Before he left for Delhi, VK Duggal who held the gubernatorial post of Manipur for about eight months was given a farewell by the State Government during a simple function at Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister O Ibobi, Chief Secretary Lawmkunga, DGP Sahid Ahmed and other top police and civil officials of the State Government were present during the farewell function in which a contingent of 5 IRB personnel also gave guard of honour to the outgoing Governor.
It may be recalled here that VK Duggal resigned as the Governor of Manipur on August 28, 2014, thus, becoming the ninth Governor appointed by the previous Congress-led UPA Government to give up the post since the NDA government came to power in May this year.
