The 125th birth anniversary of Mahakavi Hijam Anganghal, was observed at MDU Hall, Yaiskul Police Lane, today, as apart of the 24th foundation day celebrations of Children Culture Centre, Manipur.
The participants paid floral tributes to the photograph of Mahakavi Hijam Anganghal, as a part of the function.
Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, Elangbam Joychandra, Children Cultural Centre president, Dr Lamabam Gojendra and Manipur State Kala Akademi awardee Ningombam Jadumani attended the event as the chief guest, president and guest ofhonour respectively.
Speaking at the event, Dr Lamabam Gojendra said that Children Cultural Centre has been working towards ensuring personality development of the children of the State.
He said that going by the book and obtaining high marks will ensure good jobs or employment opportunities but the children need to be taught numerous ideas and knowledge so that they become good human beings who think for the society and the people around them.
On the other hand, Manipur State Kala Akademi awardee as well as director of Blooming Culture Academy, Ningombam Jadumani said that Children Culture Centre was established with the aim of spreading awareness about the culture of the State to the children.
