CM inaugurates HADP road

Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated an approach road to Tamenglong District Hospital through video conferencing from the Chief Minister's Secretariat at 5 pm today.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Minister said that it is the first project in the State which has been inaugurated under Hill Area Development Programme (HADP) .
The Chief Minister stated that as a result of his suggestions to the Centre regarding the urgent need for a topographical-need-based budget in States like Manipur where there are both hill and valley areas, the Central Government introduced the Hill Areas Development Fund under Ministry of DoNER.
Biren also mentioned that he had requested the DoNER Ministry for consideration of inclusion of all hill districts of the State under the HADP.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ministry for DoNER for fulfilling the dreams of the people.
It may be mentioned that N Biren, after the installation of the BJP led Government in the State, urged the Centre about the need for a topographical-need-based budget for inclusive development in the State.
Tamenglong district (including Noney) was selected under the HADP with an outlay of Rs 90 crore.
The 900 meters long road was constructed by DRDA Tamenglong under the HADP, funded by DoNER with a total project cost of Rs 42 lakh.
Tamenglong DC Armstrong Pame, CMO of Tamenglong District Hospital, staff of the hospital were present during the inauguration.
