Covid vaccination certificate mandatory for entry to polling stations: DC

Tamenglong, February 26 2022: Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong on Thursday issued a notice in connection with the 12th Manipur Assembly Election 2022 that polling agents and counting agents of all contesting candidates will be allowed to enter polling station and counting hall on the production of certificate of double dose of Covid-19 vaccination.

In case they are not vaccinated or single dose vaccinated, an RT-PCR negative report from an authorized laboratory taken within 72 hours from the start of polling or counting is required, it added.

Moreover, DC Tamenglong has also directed all the officers who didn't attend the first round of training from February 19 to 22 and second round of training on February 19 and 21 to show cause and explanation.

The DC further warned those absentees of stringent actions including suspension of services in case of non-response of the show cause.
