Imphal, August 08 2016:
The JAC Against the Attempt to Murder Dr N Gyaneshore has called an indefinite bandh on Tiddim road from August 10 against the authority's failure to establish any clue regarding the brutal attack.
Speaking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, JAC co-convenor RK (O) Tombisana said that the family of one Devarani of Khurai allegedly once threatened Dr Gyane-shore.
A joint meeting of meira paibi groups and human rights defenders was held on July 29 and it adopted a resolution which held Devarani as the main conspirator behind the brutal attack on Dr Gyaneshore.
The same resolution was then forwarded to Lamphel police station.
However, police have not yet initiated any process to establish the facts and circumstances about the brutal attack, Tombisana decried.
This compelled the JAC to impose an indefinite bandh along Tiddim road with effect from August 10.However, religious activities, education and essential services would not be covered by the indefinite Tiddim road bandh.
