Teachers of SSA, RMSA shut down ZEO Kangpokpi

As part of the ongoing Joint SSA and RMSA teachers' association stir over the alleged failure of the Government in meeting their demands, teachers under the umbrella of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) in Kangpokpi District have also joined the movement and closed down ZEO office Kangpokpi today.
The Joint Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) Teachers' Association lock the office of ZEO Kangpokpi this afternoon as part of its protest against the alleged Government failure to address their demands within the stipulated deadline.
Haobem Chongloi, President, Joint SSA and RMSA Teachers' Association said that teachers under SSA and RMSA within Kangpokpi apart from other districts in the state have been enduring immense suffering without pay for six months while the teachers are working on regular basis.
He said that since the day of their appointment, they have been serving regularly with an aim to fill gap created by the lack of teachers in most of the Government schools, but they were not paid their monthly salaries oN regular basis unlike teachers of others State.
Lamenting the insensitive nature of the State Govt in addressing the long pending legitimate demands, the president said the teachers are compelled to take up the democratic form of agitation following which they have closed down the office of ZEO Kangpokpi.
He further said that they will continue to push their stir unless their demands are met and any untoward incident during the agitation will be borne by the Government and the association will not take any responsibility over it.
The association also sought support and cooperation of all civil society organizations in Kangpokpi districts and from like-minded people and well-wishers in their movement for justice.
