State logs 277 new cases, three fatalities

Imphal, February 04 2022:
The state on Friday reported 277 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2087 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering test positivity rate of 13.27 per cent, a slight dip from Thursday's 14.09 per cent.
Friday also reported three fatalities which took the death toll to 2057 .
They were residents of Imphal West, Kakching and Noney districts.
Two of them had received second dose of Covid 19 vaccines and the other was unvaccinated.
Till date, 169 vaccinated people including 47 with double doses have been killed by the virus.
In the last 24 hours, 357 patients were discharged from heme isolation (265), RIMS (2), JNIMS (23) and CCCs (67) .
The caseload came down to 3893 out of which 1158 (29.75 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 225 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 141 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only three did not reported any fresh Covid cases on Friday.
So far, the state has recorded 8656 positive cases and 55 fatal ities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 1188 new positive cases and 11 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 2288 and 20 respectively.
According to official reports, the 277 fresh cases included 272 people (142 male & 130 female) from among the general population and 5 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (53), JNIMS (30) and other testing centres (194) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (76), Imphal West (108), Thoubal (16), Bishnupur (12), Kakching (13), Kangpokpi (s), Tamenglong (5), Jiribam (l), Ukhrul (5), Noney (2), Senapati (8), Chandel (12) and Churachandpur (9).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,34,444 (general population -1,29,472 and CAPF personnel - 4,972).Number of recovered cases is 1,28,494 (general population - 1,23,677 and CAPF personnel - 4,817) and number of active cases is 3893 (general population - 3745 and CAPF personnel - 148) .
The recovery rate rose to 95.57 per cent.
A total of 246 D-type and 96 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 12,402 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,45,016 out of which 10,62,951 had received second doses and 36,143 had been given precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (47793), Imphal East (29832), Thoubal (9950), Churachandpur (10910), Kangpokpi (3069), Tamenglong (3404), Bishnupur (9604), Senapati (2426), Ukhrul (3160), Kakching (6745), Chandel (2654), Noney (1132), Tengnoupal (1167), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1024), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (690), Imphal East (492), Thoubal (180), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (65), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (198), Senapati (11), Ukhrul (48), Kakching (119), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,327 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 29,933 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,94,969 tests per million population against the national average of 5,24,986 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent cumulative positivity at 8.75 per cent.
