Domino's offers free lifetime pizza to Mirabai

Multinational brand Domino's Pizza has offered Olympic silver medallist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu free pizza for life following her televised interview after her win wherein she expressed her wish to eat pizza after having undergone prolonged dieting for the Games.
Congratulating Mirabai on her momentous win, Domino's India tweeted that the Olympian had fulfilled the aspirations of the country and as such it decided to provide free pizzas to her for life.
Despite the Covid-19 restriction, Domino's Pizza guest delight manager Moirangthem Yengkhoiba Meetei and guest delight associate manager Birkumar Rai went to the Nongpok Sekmai residence of Mirabai on Saturday and celebrated the Tokyo triumph with her family.
Photographs of the celebration were posted on the tweeter handle of Domino's India Chief executive Officer (CEO) Pratik Potan on Saturday along with a congratulatory message.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle in this regard, Domino's India North East Area manager Vicky Francis informed that the Company made the offer to honour Miraibai on her win.
There are no terms and conditions attached and Mirabai can avail the offer at any Domino store across the country, he said, while adding that she will receive VVIP treatment from the company.
Hours after making it public that she is eager to have pizza, Domino's officially announced that Mirabai Chanu would be treated with free pizza for lifetime.
On Saturday Mirabai opened India's medal account in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 as she clinched the first silver medal in the 49kg category weightlifting.
Subsequent to her failure at the Rio Olympics, the 26-year old underwent rigorous training for the Tokyo Olympics for years which also included giving up her favourite food.
Speaking to a news channel minutes after the podium finish at the Tokyo Games, Mirabai said, "First of all I'll go and have a pizza.
It has been a long time since I ate pizza.
I was waiting for this day.
Since yesterday I haven't eaten anything.
I will eat a lot today" .
Domino's was quick to reply on Mirabai's wish to have a pizza.
Firstly, Domino's congratulated the weightlifter on her win, then made promise to treat her with free pizza for lifetime.
Domino's tweeted, "Congratulations on bringing the medal home! You brought the dreams of a billion+ Indians to life and we couldn't be happier to treat you to FREE Domino's pizza for life.
Congratulations again!!" Following Mirabai's wish, Pratik Pota, CEO of Jubilant Foodworks Limited tweeted saying that Domino's Imphal visited Mirabai's house to congratulate her family with none other than Domino's Pizza.
Pratik Pota tweeted, "Even as we prepare to give #MirabaiChanu a hero's welcome and let her eat pizzas to her heart's content, our Imphal team went to her house to congratulate her family with what else but Domino's Pizza @dominos_india.
Congratulations @ mirabai_chanu you have done India proud! The netizens have also showed happiness towards the kind gesture by the Domino's team.
