CM, Agri minister urged to solve urea problem

Yumbi Agro Farmer Products Company Limited and Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited have urged both the chief minister and the agriculture minister to address suffering of the farmers who are finding it difficult to get the urea fertilizer required for application in their paddy fields.
According to a joint statement of the two agro companies, Yumbi Agro Farmer Products Company, Mangjil Agro Farmer Products Company Limited and Kourel Agro Farmer Products Company Limited were established under formation and promotion of 10,000 farmers' production organisation scheme as part of Prime Minister's target of doubling farmers' income by 2022 .
These companies are sponsored and promoted respectively by NABARD Manipur region and ICAR-KVK Imphal.
Representatives of the companies met officials of agriculture department and office of the agriculture minister from July 15 to 24 and strongly pressured for ending the problem being faced by farmers in getting urea.
However, officials of the department and agriculture minister's office gave different versions on solving the problem of urea, the statement said and expressed strong concern over fate of the suffering farmers.
