Allegations raised against student bodies

Even as general secretary of the students' union of Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary School, Loitongbam Bidyalakshmi has alleged that some students who identified themselves as members of the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) came to her rented room at Uripok Tourangbam Leikai last evening and threatened her, a number of students of Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary School have alleged that some students who are members of the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) (including girls) came to the school today and threatened the girl students.
Speaking to newsmen, Bidyalakshmi said that threatening a student is unacceptable by any yardstick and added that she had never uttered a word about DESAM being responsible for disrupting the school election which was held yesterday.
A case has now been registered with the police, said Bidyalakshmi On the other hand, some students of the school said that the students including AMSU members descended on their school while classes were on at around 2 pm.
The students forced open the gate of the school and threatened them, they said.
When some teachers arrived they found out that some of them were office bearers of AMSU, alleged the students.
Among the students who barged into the school was Bidyalakshmi, alleged the students further.
Following the twin incidents, academic atmosphere of the school has been severely disturbed, said some students.
