Foundation day of Nursing college held

College of Nursing, Medical Directorate observed its 9th foundation day cum oath taking ceremony of 1st year BSc nursing students at the conference hall of the college, today.
The programme was graced by Health Director Dr K Rajo as chief guest and Principal of College of Nursing, Medical Directorate Prof N Nalinibala Devi as president.
State Mission Director Dr N Shyamjai Singh, AYUSH Director Dr A Guneshwor Sharma and Controller of Examination, Manipur University Prof Ng Nimai Singh also attended the programme.
At the function, Dr K Rajo stated that there would be no issue for placement of nursing students as the Government has opened many hospitals and is planning to open more.
Saying that the role of nursing within the health care sector is immense, Dr Rajo added that around 1,000 nurses were employed by the State Government in the second wave of COVID-19.He further stated that some nurses succumbed to COVID-19 in the line of duty while many others were infected by the contagion.
Dr Rajo lauded the nurses for their service amidst the Covid pandemic.
Maintaining that the State is witnessing declining cases of COVID-19 due to the seamless effort of the State Government, Dr Rajo added that the health care infrastructure has also been improved to tackle the pandemic.
He also urged the people to take full doses of the Covid vaccine without hesitation.
