Chief Minister N Biren Singh has appreciated the Manipur Police for their sincere efforts towards restoring peace in the State during a joint passing out parade of the 48th batch of Civil Police Constables (Male/Civil) and 55th batch of Riflemen (MR/IRB) at Manipur Police Training College, Pangei today.
In all, 2,722 newly recruited personnel passed out from the college.
At the function, the Chief Minister continued that the State is able to concentrate on development since the past four and half years due to the restoration of peace in Manipur.
Stating that police-public relation has now become cordial, N Biren Singh maintained that people no longer feel uncomfortable and insecure when they come across police and security personnel.
He also appreciated the State police for their role in the 'War on Drugs' campaign.
N Biren Singh said that police should always be vigilant to prevent all sorts of unwanted incidents.

There is no point in wearing a police uniform if they do not protect people, N Biren said and exhorted the passed out personnel to serve the State and the Nation with full devotion.
The passing out parade for the two batches could not be held on time due to Covid pandemic, the Chief Minister said and expressed happiness that not a single case of COVID-19 was detected at the college in the past two years.
MPTC Director RK Tutusana administered oath to the newly recruited Constables and Riflemen and presented reports of the two training batches.
Soon after his arrival, the Chief Minister reviewed the guard of honour and received a salute of a march past presented by the passing out personnel.
Later, the Chief Minister handed over the trophy and certificate of Best in Physical Training to Yanglem Bishorjit of Toubul Mamang Leikai (Bishnupur), Best in Musketry to Azhoni Pfozhe of Pungdong Village (Senapati), Best in Law to R Tharmi of Chingjaroi Khullen (Ukhrul), Best in Allied Subjects to Akoijam Banky Singh of Mongshangei Mayai Leikai (Imphal West), Best in Drill to Takhellambam Sushil Singh of Keinou Thongkha Mamang Leikai (Bishnupur) and Best in Overall to SN Darung Lamkang of Charang Ching Khunou (Chandel).
Ministers, MLAs and high ranking civil and police officers and a number of parents, guardians, family members and friends of the passed out personnel were also present at the occasion.
