Imphal, November 05 2021:
The Dhanamanjuri University Teachers' Association (DMUTA) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and the Education Minister today regarding the bifurcation of posts for DMU.
A memorandum signed by Dr L Rajen Singh, convenor general DMUTA, said the Ad-hoc Committee of the Constituent Colleges of Dhanamanjuri University was replaced by DMUTA on October 22, 2021 which has been urging the authority concerned for the absorption of the existing teachers (including the Principals and utilized teachers) of the constituent colleges of DMU before any process for fresh recruitment is issued or taken up.
The ad-hoc committee had also launched a series of agitations raising their demands but it was postponed following assurance by the Chief Minister during a meeting held on January 11, 2021 in the presence of Education Minister S Rajen Singh.
Following no action from the side of the Government, the committee had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and the Education Minister on August 19, 2021 reiterating their demands, added the memorandum.
However, the Registrar of DMU had issued a notice on October 1, 2021 notifying issuance of call letters for personal interview for direct recruitment of Assistant Professors, which is a deliberate and conscious neglect and sidelining the demands of the ad-hoc committee/DMUTA, added the statement.
