Thoubal, December 30 2019:
A 3-day Integrated Communication Outreach Programme (ICOP) organised by the Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal began today at Thoubal Municipality Council Hall, Thoubal.
T Anita Devi, District Programme Officer, Thoubal District was the chief guest while Gin Gangte, Assistant Director and Head of Office, Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal presided the event.
The programme comprised of a 3 day-long exhibition on 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi which was inaugurated by the chief guest besides the outreach communication.
Speaking on the occasion as a resource person, Md Ahmad Ali Shah, Assistant Professor, History Department, Waikhom Mani Girl's College, Thoubal explained the significance of 'Father of the Nation' and his initiatives and contribution towards cleanliness.
Akoijam Ojit Kumar Singh, Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat Mission, Thoubal Municipal Council explained on the need for public cooperation to maintain cleanliness.
He also sought cooperation from the general public for Swachh Survekshan, a cleanliness competition for cities and towns, which will be held from January 4 to 30, 2020 .
Artists of a private registered troupe of Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal namely Kangleipak Musical Association, Tentha presented the opening song.
Prior to the said programme, a pre-publicity programme was organised at Salungpham Mayai Leikai, Thoubal District on Sunday.
