College teaching community demoralised with Govt's repeated failures: FEGOCTA

The agitation launched by Government college teachers continues for the second day with a sit in protest being organised at Imphal, reiterating its demand to implement the 7th UGC Pay and Regulations 2018.A press release issued by general secretary of FEGOCTA stated that the Government college teaching community is demoralised with the Government's failure, despite its repeated written and verbal assurances.
It maintained that the agitation will continue till the fulfilment of FEGOCTA's demands for implementation of the 7th Pay.
The collective sit in protest by college teachers will be staged tomorrow at Manipur College.
Meanwhile, FEGOCTA welcomed the invitation by the new Commissioner of Higher Education on January 27 and appreciated the exchange of ideas and detailed discussion during the meeting with the new Commissioner and the new Director of University and Higher Education.
"FEGOCTA believes in the assurances of new team leaders of Higher Education to transform them into concrete results including the 7th UGC Pay and Regulations 2018", it added.
It further expressed hope that the new team leaders, under the guidance of the Chief Minister and the Education Minister, will resolve other issues of higher education including the welfare of the college teachers and academic performances of the colleges.
