Imphal, April 18 2013:
All Mizoram Manipuri Association (AMMA) has clarified that it had never asked to pay Rs one lakh to the organiser of Tapta concert in Aizawl.
In a press release, AMMA said that around 1000 to 2000 Manipuris are residing in Mizoram.
Saying that AMMA is a body of all the Manipuris residing in Mizoram which extends helping hand to its members at the time of need, the press release said that the body also organises musical concerts for raising fund from time to time.
On January 23, NE Brothers requested AMMA to extend co-operation in organising a concert in Aizawl.
As AMMA was unwilling to go together with NE Brothers, the association did not respond positively.
However, NE Brothers started selling of tickets for the concert without an understanding with AMMA.
So AMMA in an executive meeting decided not to take part in organising the concert.
However, AMMA requested the NE Brothers to donate certain amount as 'royalty charge' .
Saying that it had never asked the organiser to pay Rs one lakh or disallowed to organise Tapta concert, the press release said that it was unfortunate that NE Brothers allegedly tried to highlight AMMA wrongly.
In fact, the members of AMMA love Tapta Band and wish to listen to its songs, it added.
