The State Government is set to spread public awareness on child trafficking in all the districts of the State, said Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai.
The Minister was speaking at a programme held at Observation Hall, Takyelpat that marked the handing over of 23 children rescued from Jaipur to Child Welfare Committees of the respective districts.
In view of increasing number of child trafficking cases in Manipur, it has become a must to raise awareness on the issue, she added.
The Minister further said that the proposed awareness programmes will shed light on 'what is child trafficking?', 'possible measures to check child trafficking', 'possible physical and mental impact of child trafficking to children', 'how to identify pimps' and 'necessary investigations to be done before handing over a child to a person who
promises free education' etc.
