Protest against CAB staged in Bpr and Tbl

Bpr Tbl, February 07 2019:
Demanding the withdrawal of Citizenship Amendment) Bill 2016, which was passed on January 8 this year despite strong opposition from various sectors of North East, several protests demonstration were staged in different parts of the State today.
All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) in association with Kangmong Leikai Mapal Club and meira paibis of the locality staged a sit in protest at Kangmong Manglak Community Hall.
CPI, Manipur State Council, assistant secretary M Joykumar and AMNM president M Sakhi attended as resource persons in the protest demonstration.
Volunteers of AMNM and over 500 students of Kangmong Learners Academy also formed a human chain, followed by a protest rally against the Bill at Kangmong road.
During the protests, placards and slogans such as "Down down BJP", "We oppose CAB 2016" and "Don't implement CAB in NE" were used by the protesters.
Sunushiphai Apunba too organised a sit in protest against CAB at Sunushiphai Market Shed.
Placards that read "Give assent to The Manipur Peoples' Bill 2018", "Withdraw CAB", "No CAB in North East India" and " We oppose the communal policy of India" were used during the protest.
Thoubal: Denouncing the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Bill at Lok Sabha on January 8, women vendors staged a sit in protest at Thoubal Keithel today.
As part of the protest, human chain was also formed by the protesters and raised slogan like "Down down BJP" and "Withdraw CAB"among others by shutting half the road.
Thoubal police beefed up security measures to prevent unwanted incidents during the protest.
Speaking to media persons, one of the protester stated the women vendors of the Thoubal keithel will endorse all the agitation/movement launched by several CSOs against the Bill.
