A new committee to monitor different kinds of development works taken up within Keirao A/C has been constituted at a public meeting held today.
The public meeting held today at Urup High School ground was jointly organised by Urup Women Welfare Association, Urup Shining Star Club and Urup Young Civil Club.
The meeting deliberated on different public issues ranging from roads, education, power, water supply and other infrastructure requirements.
After minute deliberation, a new body christened Joint Action Monitoring Committee on Roads and Development Programmes of Keirao A/C was constituted.
The meeting unanimously agreed to mount a strict watch over the way Government agencies and contractors execute public works within Keirao A/C .
Speaking at the meeting, social worker MI Khan said that the Government would have allotted due share of funds and development projects to Keirao A/C.But it remains a big question who and how the public funds have been utilized.
One MLA elected from Keirao A/C held the post of RD&PR Minister which is responsible for implementing PMGSY.
Out of 13 packages implemented in Keirao A/C, none of the package lasted even for three years, MI Khan alleged.
He called upon the citizens to search and identify those elements who have converted PDS items into trading commodities in clandestine manner.
