Imphal, March 29 2015:
Kangleipak Women's Welfare Association in a statement, said the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill 2015 which was passed by the House during the recent Assembly session is a Bill that did not include any objective to protect the indigenous people of Manipur but rather focused more on the well-being of the non-locals.
The statement said that Chief Minister O Ibobi as the people's representative should work in the interest of his people in the State, not as a puppet of the Central Government.
Sidelining the people's voices, opinions of other political parties and leaders as well as intellectuals indicates a lack of commitment to his people and absence of leadership quality in the Chief Minister, the statement added.
KAWWA in the statement also said that it will endorse any course of agitation launched by the JCILPS.
