Imphal, March 13:
Asserting that there is no dispute regarding Umar Farooq being the chairman of the PULF, convenor of the armed group alleged that self-acclaimed president Azad is a controversial figure and highly corrupted individual with sinister intention.
Pointing out that records maintained by the PULF could clearly substantiate that the said general assembly had endorsed appointment of Farooq as its chairman, the convenor also highlighted several misdeeds committed during the 13 year presidentship of Azad.
Among others Azad is accused of non-maintenance of financial or other records related to functioning of the PULF organisation, extorting huge amount from Muslim candidates that contested the recently held assembly elections and utilising the sum to purchase plots at Mantripukhri and Dewlahland, and flat at outside the State.
Contending that the said general assembly had also resolved to inform Azad and his accomplices named as Rehaman, MV Helim and Zakir within March 20, the convenor's statement cautioned that failure to pay back the embezzled money amounting to over Rs 5 crore would entail severe action from the organisation.
The convenor also prevailed upon the people that PULF would take all possible action to ensure an atmosphere of free and fearless existence.
