Sangai Caterers at Dilli Haat, the permanent food and craft bazar run by the Delhi Tourism at Aurobindo Marg opposite INA Market here in the national capital has come a long way to emerge as one of the most successful food stall.
With its special and unique style of cooking it has become popular and its food items are the most demand items at Dilli Haat.
Sangai Caterers at Dilli Haat was set up by Sandeep Salam in the year 1998 under the appointment of the Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur.
Since its inception it slowly attracts visitors and now becomes very popular among the tourists and the Delhiites.
Sandeep Salam, the proprietor of the Sangai Caterers Food stall said that the aim of setting up this food stall was to introduce the Manipuri cuisine and to promote the Manipuri traditional food to the people.
Among the food items, momos and Manipuri Thali are the most highly demand items.
The Manipuri Thali or the Manipuri traditional food includes Iromba, Utti and Fish curry.
The Iromba is a typical Manipuri dish, which is a mixture of bamboo shoot, fermented fish, dry chilly and potatoes cook together.
Apart from the Manipuri traditional food items, they also serve continental food.
He added that he had not launched any advertising campaign to popularize his stall but he took part in different fairs and festivals like the Indian International Trade Fair, North East Crafts Festival and North East Food Festival as a part of promotional campaign and to introduce their foods to different people.
