Fishery training program conducted at Sanakeithel

A five-day training programme on 'Scientific Fish Farming and Breeding Techniques' organised by District Fishery Office, Imphal West commenced from today at Panthoibi Shanglen, Sanakeithel Fishery Gate.
The training programme was inaugurated by Director (Fisheries) Saratkumar Karam as the chief guest while Joint Director (Fisheries) Kh Memcha Devi graced the occasion as functional president.
Emphasising on periodical training of fish farmers so that they are updated on new development in the sector, Saratkumar said fish farmers getting familiar with scientific breeding techniques will certainly boost productivity in the State.
Strongly suggesting that fish farmers participate in such training programmes to avail various opportunities being provided by the department concerned, the Fishery Director expressed hope that the training participants share knowledge gained during the five day course with other fishermen.
In her address, Kh Memcha exhorted the fish farmers to strive for enhancing fish production so that dependence on fishes brought from other State could be minimised.
