UK band arrive for Imphal gig

Imphal, December 12 2011: United Kingdom based Higher-on Maiden, the official Iron Maiden tribute band which was endorsed by popular heavy metal band themselves would be hitting Ukhrul town tomorrow with maiden tracks as part of their week long tour in North East states.

The UK band members arrived here after completing their Kolkata, Banglore, Calicut gigs in India this evening.

The musicians accompanied by Ukhrul based Mizim enterianment functionaries will be leaving early morning for the performance at Tangkhul Long Ground in the heart of the Ukhrul town tomorrow afternoon.

"The idea of including Ukhrul in the tour map of Higher-on Maiden is to promote the local bands", says Hardy Shimray of Mizim entertainment.

"We hope this will uplift the locals youths for a better future (instead of taking up unwanted activities)" .

Sunny Shimray of the Seven Sisters Entertainment Group, New Delhi also echoed a similar feeling while interacting with media persons at the Manipur Press club on Monday evening.

The objective behind this tour is to build a bridge for North East bands to interact, share ideas and take support from International Bands towards the global music scene as well as to bring world class shows to the North East Music Fans.

The band aims to provide thrilling experience to the crowd by covering almost all hit numbers from Iron Maiden."But it will depend on the crowd as well", feels vocalist Ian Mikensie, a resident of New Castle, UK.

Other members of the band-Paul Hewitson(guitars)Martin Strickson(Bass),Steve Bunnet(Drums) and Steve Parry(Guitar and backing vocals)also expressed happiness to have an 'unbelievable response' in India's north eastern states.

"It's really proud to have fans for the band", shares bassist Martin.

After Ukhrul show which is being organized as a part of the Seven Sisters Winter Rock Tour organized by the Seven Sisters Entertainment Group, Delhi, the band will perform in Imphal on December 15 .

The event will be managed by Oriental pumpkin, an event management group based in Imphal and GoManipur is the official media partner for the show.
