Imphal Municipal Council to check illegal businesses

In a notification issued by the Manipur Municipal Council, vendors transacting businesses which is not reflected in their Vendor Licences will be dealt strictly.
The Chairperson and the Revenue Officer in a joint statement said that some vendors in market number one, two and three are found to be indulging in illegal trading business, while some vendors in the Purana Bazar and temporary market shed are indulging in misusing of power connection which has burdened the Municipal Council with heavy electricity bills.
The three markets in Kwairamband Bazar has now created its own traditional and cultural identity and has become a tourists spot, attracting a large number of tourists day by day.
Imphal Municipal Council is now aiming to maintain that identity and keep the surrounding area neat and clean.
Therfore, vendors in Purana Bazar, New Market, laxmi Market and temporary market are notified to stop thier ongoing illegal businesses after 48 hours of notification after which their vendor licences will be cancelled if found guilty of any unauthorised business.
