91 civil service posts approved

A State Cabinet meeting convened this afternoon with Chief Minister Okram Ibobi in the chair has approved 91 posts for state civil services to be filled up through Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Spokesperson of the State government and Education Minister M Okendro said that the 91 posts approved by the Cabinet include 23 for Manipur Civil Service (MCS), 25 for Manipur Police Service (MPS), 28 for Manipur Finance Service (MFS) and 15 for Sub-Deputy Collector (SDC).
The Cabinet also resolved to implement the National Rural Livelihood Mission in the State.
The scheme was launched by the Union government in June 2011 with the objective of uplifting the livelihood of rural masses by providing cash and other benefits.
People in other states have already benefitted from this scheme, Okendro noted.
The State Cabinet further approved the 5th Amendment Bill of Manipur Cooperative Society to be tabled before the House in the coming Assembly Session.
The Cabinet also deliberated on the Demand for Grants for the financial year 2013-14 and approved the CAG Reports.
Education Minister Okendro further maintained that the State government would look into the functioning of 28 government schools which could not produce any passed student in this year's HSLC Examination.
He also stated that TG Higher Secondary School has received applications for admission from many students, but all students could not be accommodated.
Other Higher Secondary Schools would also be developed to accommodate more number of students.
