Flop schools set to face music

Education Minister M Okendro today stated that necessary action would be initiated against 84 Government schools which could not send a single candidate to the HSLC Exam 2013 and also 28 other Government schools which recorded zero pass percentage in the same exam.
Speaking to media persons at his office chamber this evening, Okendro stated that necessary action would be initiated against authorities of Government schools which could field a single candidate in the HSLC Exam 2013 and schools which drew blank in the result sheet.
Arrangements have been made for admission of students who have cleared HSLC Exam 2013 into 39 different Government Higher Secondary schools.
It is being planned to admit up to 500 students each in TG Higher Secondary School, Johnstone Higher Secondary School, CC Higher Secondary School, Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School, Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School and Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School.
Reputed teachers would be posted at these schools and all necessary infrastructure would be provided to TG Hr Sec School.
On the other hand, a Cabinet meeting held this evening with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair has given its consent to launch State Rural Livelihood Mission in the line of National Rural Livelihood Mission, conveyed Okendro.
The State Cabinet further sanctioned recruitment of 22 MCS officers, 25 MPS officers, 28 MFS officers and one Election Officer through Manipur Public Service Commission.
The Cabinet meeting also deliberated on the Demand for Grant 2013-14, Demand for Excess Grant 2007-08 and the CAG report which would tabled in the State Assembly starting from June 10 .
