Awungshi's body brought home

Imphal, June 06, 2013:
The dead body of 21-year old Tangkhul lass, Reingamphy Awungshi of Choithor village, Ukhrul, who was found dead under suspicious condition at her rented room in South Delhi on May 29 last, was brought to Imphal in an Air India flight today.
After the case was handed over to the Crime Branch of Delhi Police, the second autopsy on Awungshi's body was conducted yesterday.
The mortal remains of Awungshi was received and honoured by members of Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) and Imphal Tangkhul Sanao Long (ITSL) along with Reingamphy's father Chihanbar on arrival at Imphal Airport here today.
From the airport, the body was taken to Tangkhul Baptist Church, Chingmeirong afterwards where a public meeting cum condolence was held to condemn the suspected murder of Reingamphy Awungshi and also to discuss matters related to performing her last rites.
A member of TKLI told Hueiyen Lanpao that Reingamphy's death could not be a case of suicide.
It is a clear instance of murder.
The conduct of Delhi Police in handling the case is condemnable.
The State government should extend utmost help and support in bringing out the culprits, he said.
