Imphal, February 04 2014:
PFA Thoubal rescued 5 ft-long Green Cat Snake (Bioga cyanea) on Saturday last from the residence of one Nameirakpam Shyamkeshore Kyamgei of Khagi Bazar.
Recently Shyamkeshore brought firewood from Churachandpur.
After 2/3 days his dog began to bark on a specific log.
As the dog's bark attracted the family's attention, they found something peeping from the holes of the log.
He then carefully broke the log into half so that no harm is cause to the unknown guest.
To the surprise of the onlookers, a long green snake was found.
Shyamkeshor carefully put the snake inside a plastic bottle making small holes for the animal to breath.
He then informed PFA.
This mildly venomous nocturnal snake dwells on the tree and bushes.
Its eyes look like that of a cat and thus the name.
The snake would be released at a suitable site shortly, the PFA said.
Again on Monday, the PFA took an injured owl from one Nepram Ranjit, Member, Wangbal GP (Ward no 5) at Uyan Khunou.
The owl was found by one Khundongbam Chinglen, a class X student of New Public School, Khangabok.
The bird would be released as soon as it recovered.
