Huge turnout at DIPR photo exhibition at Kpi

Kangpokpi, February 27 2019:
The 3-day long photo exhibition cum multimedia campaign at Motbung community Hall, Kangpokpi District experienced a huge turnout of more than 300 villagers on the opening day itself.
The exhibition is organised by Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Manipur (DIPR) and District Information Office (DIO) Kangpokpi with an aim to highlight various activities and achievements of the State Government.
SL Lamthang, chairman Motbung Village Authority; Lunthang, secretary Motbung Village Authority; Laishram Roshan, Asst Publicity Officer DIPR & District Information Officer, Kangpokpi and N Oken, Designer DIPR graced the inaugural function as dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, SL Lamthang stated that although Motbung had been chosen as a model village under SAGY, minimal amount of development activities are seen and most of the villagers are unaware of various schemes and developmental programmes taken up by the State Government.
He then thanked DIPR for taking up such an initiative that would surely benefit the villagers.
Secretary MVA, Lunthang said that though the village has around 800 households with a population of over 6000 villagers, the villagers are yet to experience Go to Village programme of the State Government.
He urged the Government to look into the grievances of the villagers at the earliest.
During an interaction programme which was held as a part of the programme, the staff of DIPR explained various schemes and programmes of the Government to the villagers.
Later, a publication of DIPR like Manipur Today, Kangpokpi Today and DIPR diaries were distributed to the villagers.
