Anniversary of UDTWA observed

Ukhrul, February 27 2019:
Ukhrul District Taxi Welfare Association (UDTWA), Ukhrul observed its 10th Raising day in a simple function held at UDTWA office, Phungreitang Ukhrul today.
Moon Mashangva president NPF 44-AC, Ukhrul who attended the function as the special guest said that the association members should render services which is both satisfactory and convenient to the passengers while urging the drivers to refrain from rash driving or do not drive under the influence of liquor for ensuring safety of the customers.
Otherwise, they will be strictly forbidden from driving, cautioned the president.
Vice-president UDTWA, CT Zingyui shared experiences regarding the beginning of the Association in 2009 and the start of passenger services through Winger by few like minded persons for the convenience of the public while travelling on Ukhrul-Imphal road.
He further said that passenger services rendered by UDTWA is not limited to a particular route but has plan for further expansion to connect other places in Ukhrul adding that block headquarter is now connected with Ukhrul town as part of its expansion plan.
Zingyui also informed that UDTWA is planning to provide direct Winger service to all district headquarters of the State from Ukhrul town and also to neighbouring State capitals which is nearest to Ukhrul town considering the public demand for transportation, which will be gradually done with time.
Trson Raikhan Chaplain Talui Ngarum Long pronounced a special prayers for the association.
The Raising day celebration was attended by UDTWA members and well wishers.
