Imphal, September 22:
Along with admitting a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against closure of roads leading to Chief Minister's bungalow from 6 pm to 7 am every day thereby causing inconveniences to the public, the High Court would be taking up the case for discussion tomorrow.
The PIL filed by Advocate Khaidem Mani on September 15 contended that the order issued by the SP on closure of the roads leading to the Chief Minister's bungalow thereby causing inconveniences to the public is not applicable even from the point of law and order.
A day after the bomb attack at the Chief Minister's bungalow on the night of September 1 by PREPAK, the portion of the National Highway 39 passing near the Chief Minister's bungalow and which serves as an important connecting road between Imphal East and West districts and other nearby lanes have been closure down to public entry from 6 pm to 7 am daily.
The restriction on entry in the nearby lanes of the Chief Minister's bungalow, however, has been relaxed since the last couple of days.
It is said that the PIL had been admitted and taken up by the Court on Sep 18.However, without any discussion, the case had been postponed till Sep 23.As representatives of the State Govt, Principal Secretary (Home), DGP and SSP have been pitted against petitioner Advocate Khaidem Mani in the case.
