The Co-ordination Committee on Free Education Zone has called upon all to make education a free zone.
It also asked the State Government, non-State actors as well as civil society organisations not to interfere with educational institutions.
A statement issued by the committee while observing that monetary demands to educational institutions make serious disturbance to academic atmosphere emphasised on the importance of maintaining tranquility in educational institutions.
It maintained that bandhs, blockades and boycotts should not affect schools, colleges and universities.
The committee also asked the Government, politicians and bureaucrats not to treat educational institutes as money spinning institutes.
Further it appealed to all non-State actors and civil society organisations not to penalise teachers and education related officials by awarding corporal punishment, humiliating them, parading before media and subjecting them to third degree method based on unilateral decisions.
The committee also appealed to teachers and education related officials to discharge their duties sincerely instead of demanding their rights only.
