State Chief Secretary, DS Poonia today assured that improvement works of the road to Makhan village from the National Highway-39 will be taken up at the earliest.
The chief secretary speaking at the inauguration function of the Green Micro Finance organised by the Weaker Section Development Society, Manipur in association with FWWB, India and SIDBI at Makhan village in Senapati district, the Chief Secretary said the village has enough potential for generating self income.
For the convenience of business activities for income generation a market shed will be set up in the village.
He also will try his best to improve the condition of the road to the village connecting with the NH-39 with blacktopping, the Chief Secretary assured.
As part of the programme, solar lamps were distributed to the Self Help Groups operating there by the chief secretary.
The function was also attended by Commissioner (horticulture and soil conservation), K Mosses Challai, Chairman of the village authority, Marikin John, chairman of WSDS Manipur, former MLA L Amujao, director of MANIREDA, Manglem.
Officials also held interaction with the villagers and members of the self help group and hear the grievances of the villagers.
